Exotic Pet Services

Our veterinarians can provide a wide range of services to exotic animals.

We know the unique physiology of exotic animals requires special care, and we are happy to offer it. Reptiles have complex husbandry requirements to keep them happy and healthy. We love to share our knowledge on appropriate enclosures, properly regulated temperatures and humidity, lighting, sanitation, and proper substrates (ground covering) to help you provide the best care for your reptile.

What are the signs of illness in exotic pets?

Reptiles can suffer from various diseases, some of which can cause serious respiratory, gastrointestinal, and liver problems. They are also not immune to internal and external parasites, including hookworms, roundworms, protozoan parasites, mites, and ticks. Common signs your reptile is sick are:

  1. Rapid breathing or wheezing
  2. Loss of appetite
  3. Changes on their skin or mouth
  4. Weight loss or gain
  5. Aggressiveness, hiding, excessive digging, less climbing
  6. Different colour urine or stool

Why are veterinary visits important for exotic pets?

All exotic pets need annual veterinary visits. Having a veterinarian examine your pet can improve your loyal companion's health. During the visit, our team can spot signs of illness, offer treatment and provide nutritional advice. This visit allows the pet owner to learn more about caring for their unique pet.
